Sevilla v Liverpool Tips and Betting Offers, Champions League, Tuesday 22nd November 2017
Liverpool’s Champions League group is a close one, and this trip to Seville could decide their progression. After seeing off Maribor home and away, the Reds are in a strong position going in to their final two games. However, they’re only a point clear of Sevilla ahead of this crunch clash. Can the Reds wrap up their spot in the last 16 here, or will the Spaniards manage to take top spot?
Sevilla v Liverpool Betting Tips and Offers
This game seems set to be a tight encounter, with the bookmakers struggling to settle on a winner. Sevilla are favourites, they’re priced at 31/20 with Betfair ahead of this clash. Liverpool aren’t far behind at 7/4 with 888Sport, while you can back the draw at 12/5 with Betfred. With both sides pushing for a place in the last 16 ahead of this clash, it’s bound to be a close affair.
There’s bound to be plenty of regret over the first meeting between these two from the Reds, after they conceded late on to draw 2-2 at Anfield. They’d be in a fantastic position in the group with that win, but it’s left them teetering on the edge of qualification, with a tough trip in prospect on Tuesday.
Like Liverpool, Sevilla are facing an uphill struggle just to qualify for this competition next season. They both find themselves outside of the top four this season, with some serious competition above them. Given that these two have both struggled to secure top four finishes on a regular basis, they should probably enjoy the adventure this season.
It’s hard to say that either of these two have defensive set ups, as they have each been involved in some high scoring games. The hosts have found the net in every European match so far, but they’ve also managed just one clean sheet – which came against Maribor. Other sides have had plenty of joy against the Andalusians, and we expect Liverpool to get forward here. We expect to see an open, high-scoring game. That has us backing over 2.5 goals in this one at 8/11 with BetVictor.
We’re also backing Sevilla to edge this one, as they come in to this game with some really impressive home form. The Spaniards have won six straight matches at home in all competitions, while they’ve already seen off Spartak and Maribor here. They’ve won six of their last seven home Champions League games, excluding qualifiers. We expect the hosts to win, but we do see Liverpool being the latest side to damage Sevilla’s defence, so we’re going for a home win and both teams to score at 7/2 with Coral.
