PSG v Manchester City Betting Tips

PSG already saw off English opposition in the last round, as they beat Chelsea home and away. They’ll be hoping for similar success against this Manchester City side, a team who are in awful form. In fact, they’re playing so badly that they look set for a season in the Europa League, unless they turn things around.

There are plenty out there that would love to see Pep Guardiola taking over with City in Europe’s second tier competition. Given how badly City have been playing of late, that’s far from impossible. They just about hold fourth place, but both Manchester United and West Ham are in hot pursuit. Will this tie be a distraction as City look to hold on to fourth?

It could be that making the semis would be awful for them, as their eye would really be off the ball in the league. Manuel Pellegrini would much rather focus on the Champions League, but he faces a huge task to get them back to winning ways. Recently, scoring has been a problem for City, which makes their task all the more difficult.

The Premier League side could really use an away goal to take back to the Etihad, but their recent run has been missing goals. Sergio Aguero hasn’t had his scoring touch of late, and there are few other ruthless finishers in this team outside of the Argentine. While plenty of this team can play, few are clinical when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net.

That’s why we’re backing City to draw a blank here. They’ll struggle for possession against this PSG team, who should have more than enough to come out on top here. With PSG favourites for this tie, were backing them to win and keep a clean sheet in the first leg. That would give them a foot in the semis.

The French side have a lot more going forward than City, they certainly do have some clinical strikers. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the obvious one, but they also have Lucas Moura and Edinson Cavani. While City may struggle to score, PSG certainly won’t. We’re backing over 1.5 goals from the French side, which is 3/4 with Betfair.
