Chelsea v Arsenal Tips, Odds and Betting Offers, Premier League, Sunday 17th September 2017
Chelsea have managed to get their season back on track with a string of victories. Having seen off some strong sides, can the Blues get another three points when they face Arsenal at Stamford Bridge? The home side are hoping to build on their great form in this derby, especially after lifting themselves back into contention for the title after some strong results. Can Antonio Conte’s side lay down a marker with a win over the Gunners?
Chelsea are well fancied to take the points here, as they can be backed at 4/5 with Ladbrokes for the victory. Betfred are offering 11/4 on the draw between these two, while the Gunners are 7/2 with Bet365 to take the points. Their last win at the Bridge came back in 2011 against Andre Villas Boas’ side, can Arsene Wenger’s men add to that victory here?
It’s going to be tough for the visitors, who have lost both of their away trips so far. A 1-0 defeat at Stoke was followed by a 4-0 loss to Liverpool, which suggests the Gunners aren’t in the best shape for this game. They may have beaten Bournemouth 3-0 at home, but that’s the kind of result Arsenal always manage to pick up. Can they claim a big scalp on Sunday, on the road?
Arsenal have seen off Chelsea in their last two meetings, both of which came at Wembley. These two sides each won their home clashes in the league last term, which suggests there’s little between them. However, the Gunners won just one of their trips to the top 10 last season. Given that awful form, we can’t see them beating the champions.
The Blues have won 16 of their last 18 matches at home, while they’ve beaten Arsenal in their last five home meetings. That points to a home win, and we see Chelsea getting it in comfortable fashion. They’ve got Alvaro Morata up top, who was given a rest in midweek. His brilliant start to life in west London has seen him score in three of their first four matches, so we’re backing him to score anytime at evens with Coral.
The Blues racked up 18 goals in their last six at home to Arsenal, so they could score a few goals. The problem for Arsenal is that they’ve yet to score an away goal, having hit one strike in their previous four at Stamford Bridge. The Gunners have conceded eight goals already this term, so we’re backing Chelsea with a -1 handicap. That can be backed at 11/5 with Betfair, with the Blues scoring at least twice in their last seven home clashes.
