Chelsea v Arsenal Tips, Odds and Betting Offers, FA Cup final, Saturday 27th May 2017
The Premier League season may be over, but we still have the FA Cup final to look forward to. It’s the first final in 10 years to feature two of the top five. That last major clash in the final saw Chelsea edge out Manchester United in their first final at Wembley, denying the Red Devils the double. Can Arsenal do the same to this season’s Premier League champions?
Chelsea come in to this clash as heavy favourites to wrap up a second trophy of the season. The Blues are priced at 5/6 with Ladbrokes (£50 free) to win in 90 minutes, while Bet365 make them 4/9 to lift the trophy. With the draw priced out at 11/4 with BetVictor, and Arsenal 16/5 with Coral, it’s hard to see anything but a win for the Blues.
Antonio Conte is bidding to become the latest Italian to win this competition in his maiden campaign with the Blues. Carlo Ancelotti won the club’s first ever league and cup double back in 2010. Roberto Di Matteo won the cup and the Champions League two years later. Can Conte add his name to that list of successful managers at Stamford Bridge?
Both of those bosses were sacked within a year of their successes, but there’s no such fears over Conte. Meanwhile, the Blues face a side who have been struggling due to their manager. Arsene Wenger said that the uncertainty around his future contributed to their failure to make the top four but that still hasn’t seen him make an announcement before the final. Could his trophy-laden reign end with another FA Cup success?
The Gunners already faced an uphill battle to win this final, but things got quite a bit tougher last weekend. They lost Laurent Koscielny to suspension, while Gabriel was stretchered off soon after. Those two defensive concerns leave them short on numbers, and they prepare to face a Chelsea side who have struck nine goals in the last week.
While Arsenal ran out 3-0 winners at the Emirates against the Blues, that defeat was the catalyst for their brilliant push for the title. The Blues took apart the Gunners at Stamford Bridge in the second half of the campaign, and that has us confident in the champions forward line. We’re backing over 1.5 Chelsea goals at 4/5 with Betfred.
We can see Eden Hazard getting among those goals, with the Belgian having one of his best ever campaigns in front of goal. We’re backing him to add to that with a strike in the final, which is priced at 9/5 with 888Sport.
