Anthony Joshua 3/1 Betting Offer to Beat Charles Martin – 9 April 2016

Anthony Joshua v Charles Martin: Back Joshua at Enhanced Odds of 3/1 to Win the Fight on Saturday 9th April 2016

3/1 Anthony Joshua Betfair betting offer to beat Martin

Anthony Joshua has his first shot at the world heavyweight title tonight at the O2 against unbeaten American fighter Charles Martin.

Britain’s Olympic hero Joshua is the 1/5 favourite with most bookies to win the fight, but you can claim enhanced odds of 3/1 on Joshua to win when you open a new betting account with Betfair.

The offer is for new customers only and allows you to bet £10 on Joshua at the enhanced price. The winnings are paid in free bets and you’ll even be given a £10 free bet if your bet loses. Furthermore, Betfair will give you the chance to claim up to £100 in further free bets when you place more bets with the bookie.

Anthony Joshua v Charles Martin Betting Preview, Saturday 9th April 2016

While Anthony Joshua is the strong odds-on favourite to win the fight against Charles Martin tonight, it is perhaps not going to be the foregone conclusion that price suggests. Martin is unbeaten in 24 bouts, winning 21 within the distance, but he has had one draw (with Alvaro Morales back in 2013).

One thing that stands out when looking back through Martin’s opponents, is that he has never faced anyone really good. The same could be said for most of Joshua’s opponents, of course, with the young Brit having had only 15 professional fights (all of which he has won within the distance, by the way). But the fact that someone as poor as Raphael Zumbano Love could take Martin to 10 rounds suggests that Joshua should have the beating of his opponent with relative ease.

Of course, Joshua could have made a better fist of things against his last opponent, Dillian Whyte, whom he took seven rounds to dispatch. But it was a learning experience that will stand the 26 year old in good stead for this one.

With the home crowd behind him, we fancy Joshua will get the job done with plenty of rounds to spare as Martin – who has never fought outside of the USA – could be somewhat overawed by the occasion.

Aside from this fantastic enhanced odds offer of 3/1 on the Joshua win, there really aren’t any betting offers worth grabbing for this fight, and we wouldn’t pile in too much cash at the standard odds of 1/5.

Instead we like the look of backing over 6.5 rounds at a nice price of 6/4 with Bet365 and also taking the 9/2 available with Sky Bet for Joshua to win the fight between rounds 7 and 12.

There is no doubting that this will be as tough a fight as Joshua has faced in his professional career to date, but his superior speed, power, reach and boxing skill should see the Brit prevail. As such, if you haven’t already got a betting account with Betfair, get over there now and claim the enhanced odds of 3/1 on this extremely talented fighter who is just a few rounds away from becoming the IBF heavyweight champion!
